Tyler J replied: "http://forums.vwvortex.com/zeromain?id=87 click on either 'Golf III/Jetta III Classifieds' or 'Golf II/Jetta II Classifieds' and then click on 'cars', not parts. You will have to search arround but most of the cars on there are well taken care of since for the most part, only enthusiasts care enough to go on a forum about their specific car."

Where can I find cheap car rentals and hotels for san antonio Texas? discounts or sales

Steve in NC replied: "Here is, by far, your best bet: Just type in date and San Antonio and voila - best rates on the internet!! "

Discovery Channel replied: "If you search the website one by one to find a good deal, it will take you a lot of time, isn't it? Try here and they compare the price from all major hotel reservations websites for you to choose: "

Chai replied: "I'd always recommend Hertz. Budget and Enterprise are also good. There are tons and tons of cheap Motel 6's in San Antonio. Also, try the Knights Inn Fiesta. Read the reviews though, cheap hotels are often not in the greatest place in town. You have many hotels to choose from, though, so choose wisely."

anyone know any smaller dealerships in austin texas that has beetles for sale? Like I don't really want an up to date one just a really cheap one I get financing on? I don't want to go to a big car dealership

PETER GRIFFIN replied: "http://www.autotrader.com"

nickpayne replied: "craigslist.org what i have found with car buying is that you get what you pay for. If you don't want to pay much, don't expect much. And VW's and Volvo's are really popular here, so since the demand is high the price can also be high."

Am I protected in an "as-is" real estate sale in Texas? I bought a house at a real estate auction a fews years back. After I took ownership and fixed it up, I found that the house had been ran into by a car, had flooded previously, and might need foundation repair. Obviously, I couldn't sell it to somebody else for full-price, so I put it on the market for sale "AS-IS". I even made the buyer sign an addendum stating they accepted the property in "as-is"/"where-is" condition. We agreed they would take it for a very cheap price (about 20k below normal value). A few days before the closing the buyer came back and said they wanted a foundation inspection because when the house had flooded in the past, the swelling of the ground had caused a crack in the brick, but not the foundation. I was furious and told them that it was fine, but that I would simply increase the price, if something had to be fixed. Long story short, because we were so close ot closing, I gave them $5000 for foundation repairs to close. Now, three years later, the lady is back and talking about sueing somebody because the property has flooded again. She says she's not going to sue me, but I still have a suspicion that she wants to turn this back into a "not as-is" sale, like she did 3 days before the closing. Am I screwed? I put in the disclosure that the house had flooded. I showed her where cabinets had been damaged, etc. We had talked about the crack in the wall. She signed the addendum. The only thing she has on me is that we thought the city had fixed the problem at the time, but also I told her she needed to get her own determination. The addendum says that too. I just know she's gonna cry to some judge that I'm a terrible, dishonest investor who duped her, but it's simply not true.

bull_rooster_aardvark replied: "It sounds to me like sour grapes on her part but you disclosed everything correctly. Just tell her you disclosed everything when you sold the place and you could not be expected to know if the place would ever flood again in the future. I personally think she has no case at all and after she talks to a lawyer they will tell her that and there it will die. So, you can tell her nicely there is nothing you can do when she calls but beyond that just forget about it. If she does get a lawyer who thinks she has a case and they start proceeding with something, then at that time you'd better get a lawyer and they can fight it out, but until then - forget it, nothing will hopefully ever come of it. Also, don't even talk to her about this beyond real basic stuff (like I didn't know it would flood again, I disclosed everything) and it she gets a lawyer or files against you don't talk to them at all - just tell them you are getting a lawyer and they can discuss it with your lawyer."

glenn replied: "I hope you have a copy of that disclosure and have the buyer's signature on the disclosure. If you do and you disclosed everything to the best of your knowledge then I am told you will be ok."

americanfreeman replied: "an as-is home sale has no warranty. It is also a notice to the buyer to do their due diligence. She can sue, but I doubt she can win."

Changing title in Texas? (new)? Changing title in Texas? How could I cheapest change car title from one person to another in Texas?I mean to avoid sales taxes etc. How much does it cost to trasfer title between family members?Would gift be as an option?By cost I mean taxes and fees. thanks

mytwodogs60463 replied: "On the title of the car flip that title over and there should be 2 spots of previos owner and new owner. You both need to fill that out and you can send that in or take it to the drivers license place where you live. You can also go to an automobile dealership and they can help you also."

72OldsCutty replied: "Well, you could fudge on the amount the car was sold for. That will kick the taxes down, but you can;t say it was sold for $1.00. The Clerk's office isn't that dumb."

waynestr replied: "New law makes it hard to fudge if not impossible as State determine value to tax, not buyer or seller. Sorry."

have any of you been to prime outlets in san marcos, texas? and are the prices/sales worth a long car drive? are the prices cheap when visiting high end stores such as lacoste and coach..or is the prices the same as you would spend at a normal mall? will i get good buys at a coach store? usually there stuff is up to $300...so..

Alice K replied: "They're a little lower than you'd find in the malls. I let a friend talk me into driving up from San Antonio after Christmas but I wasn't terribly impressed. Won't be going back."

raspberrytart replied: "I love the outlets at San Marcos! The prices actually have a noticeable difference. I remember finding stuff at the Donna Karan store for half the price of the regular store. I'm sure it depends on the store on the level of discount, but I think the variety of stores and the prices are great."

LINDA replied: "THE PRICES ARE RIGHT AND THE TRIP IS WORTH IT!"

JustSewFun.com replied: "I went a couple years ago while on a business trip to Austin. As with any outlets, watch the prices. You can get some amazing deals, but some items are more than what you would pay at department stores when they are having a sale. I say it is worth the drive for the chance to find a great bargain!"

I'm buying my first car, help? I don't want to buy a car from any dealer. I want one from regular people selling theirs. I live in Houston, Texas. Does anyone know any web pages I can search to find cars that are on sale? I don't really wanna buy anything over 5k...since I'm on a budget. Nice and cheap!

massageon replied: "I would look in the paper. Also car soup (that may or may not operate in texas) has cars for sale by people AND by dealers."

Andrew M replied: "ebay.com craigslist.com at these two you will deal with people directly. if you have anything in mind then you can search that way. also look in your local newspaper for people selling cars. craigslist will be your best bet."

paul replied: "haha check out yahoo autos, i like their used car ads, its really easy to use. but also try: cars.com autotrader.com craigslist.com aol autos check all of them, as cars are not on every site, it'll be worth checking them all cuz chances are youll eventually find the car you want!!"

Jim replied: "It should be 4-door, 4-cyls, not sporty. I would prefer Honda or Toyota... First time drivers usually have much more expensive car insurance, and it depends from car. You should compare insurance rates while choosing the car - for example here - carinsurance.yoll.net"

What's the cheapest way to replace 07 Saturn Ion rear bumper cover ? ? Some hit and run person hit the back of my car and now I have to replace the bumper because it is cracked beyond repair. I've been searching the internet but I'm still confused on the most economical way to do it. For example, I see some websites with bumper cover's for sale but they are not the color of my car. Can ANY bumper be painted the color of my car or do I have to get one that is "primed". I am going to get someone to put the bumper on for me, but if someone out there that knows about cars can tell me A) WHERE TO GET THE BUMPER FOR THE BEST DEAL and B) WHERE TO GET PAINT THAT MATCHES MY CAR. If you can suggest a place in Austin, Texas that'd be great. Thanks

rickster54nj replied: "try a junk yard and if the color doesn't match try pricing body shops ... special paint is used for bumpers , it is a flex additive added to paint so it does not crack or peel"

xelit0 replied: "The bumper covers u see on websites do fix the vehicle application, only down side is it'll come in primer black which is what you probably see if the picture shows the part black. If you not to concerned about the color you can leave it or if you are very concerned have a paint shop paint it."

I Need Help!!! I Tried To Buy A Car and....? I live in Texas and Saturday I went to "Trpphy Nissan" I Saw a Nissan Versa 2008 with 25,000 miles. I im a fisrt time buyer and Everything went completely wrong. I have no credit history period so i needed my dad as a co-signer. I NEVER DROVE THE CAR OFF THE LOT AND MY FATHER NEVER SIGNED! i did sign everything went through the finance manager and everything. I had seen a stain on the dash board and i cleary asked the sales guy if it was a stain or if it could be removed he sai o no prob it goes away with cleaning it. My dad lives in GA so they had to send the papers to him. Net thing i know they're calling my father to tell him they had to order stuff to clean the car and such and i found out through my dad. he was always skeptical about the car. I logged online and saw the 2009 models and they were 6,000 cheaper then what they were tryig to sell it to me for. I gave them a downpayment and also signed a "no cooling off" paper (which looks like they typed it up in microsoft word). I went up there on tuesday and told them i wasnt buying the car and even though they themsleves sadi the contract wasnt valid until my father signed they said they couldnt give me the money back. that the car was already registered under my name. and not only that but is i were to back off they would also charge me for the expenses i caused them. I spoke to an attorney provided by my job and he said that by federal law i have a 3 day period in which i can cancel the purchase and that hose 3 days didnt start iuntil the contract was valid that is until after my father signed. What can I do?

alfredb1979 replied: "Your attorney sucks. Hope you didn't pay that guy as you DO NOT have a cooling off period! You sign, the car is yours! I live in TX,too,btw... Forfeit the down payment and use this as a learning lesson for not using the intraweb and doing your homework. If you had done so, you would have found out about the 09's and rebates beforehand. Let the dealer keep the money and the car. That is cheap punishment."

Bruce F replied: "contact the better business bureau along with the attorney general of your state also try some of the tv stations they might be interested in publicly getting on them file a small claims in court im sure your lawyer told you you can not sign away your rights they are trying to push ya around cause your young"

gofer replied: "Stay tuff. Now You know why they call the sleazy car salesmen. If they registered the car in your name without your fathers signature do not accept the car They didn't go through expense to sell the car. That is a line of bs Give them a letter of cancellation and make a copy for yourself. Mailing it would be better but depends on your time"

Deanna G replied: "Most states have a no cooling off period. I think your attorney is mistaken about auto purchase. It is unfair to dealerships for people to buy a car and have buyer's remorse and try to bring it back. If you file a complaint with the transportation dept. or DMV you may have a better shot at canceling the deal. Ask the dealer for a carfax on the vehicle maybe there is some information in there they did not disclose to you that you can use to make them rescind the deal. 25k miles on a 2008 sounds fishy."

hello replied: "tell your dad not to sign. if he doesn't and the bank won't approve the loan, they lose. they also have to give the money back... BUT if you drove the car home, they can charge you for your use of the car."

SuziQu replied: "No co-signer...no deal. Charge for use of the car...you didn't use. Charge for cleaner...get real. Refund on down payment....well, you may or may not get it back. Just have your dad return the papers unsigned!"
